Errors Related to Trading Mode and Exchange Permissions

These errors occur when the trading pair, trading mode, or account settings on the exchange are incompatible with bot operation. Make sure your selected parameters meet the exchange's requirements and are compatible with bot usage.

  • Incorrect trading mode Check your exchange account settings and ensure the correct trading mode is selected. On the exchange terminal, enable One-Way mode. For the Default strategy, Hedge mode is also supported, but we strongly recommend using One-Way mode for consistent bot behavior:

  • Unsupported account mode The selected account mode is not supported. You need to change your account mode on the exchange. See the setup guides for OKX:

  • Reduce-only rule not satisfied The bot cannot close a position due to Reduce-Only restrictions. This often occurs if you trade manually, causing discrepancies between the exchange and bot position sizes. Check for mismatches and avoid manual trades while the bot is active.

  • Risk limit exceeded You’ve exceeded the risk limit set by the exchange. Review your open positions and risk settings. On OKX, you may need to reduce leverage in the terminal for the trading pair used by the bot.

  • Symbol is not whitelisted The selected asset is not available for trading on the exchange. Choose another coin from the available list — the current one may have been delisted.

  • Exchange account problem There’s an issue with your exchange account. Check your account status — you may need to complete KYC verification or there may be regional restrictions. Contact the exchange’s support team or review their terms and restrictions.
